Iowa City Tropicals

Just "discovered" this shop and it's now my favorite! Bronson (hope I got your name right!) is just a lovely human being and was so helpful. I am still new to this wonderful hobby and learning, and learned a lot from just a few minutes there. Can't wait to go back, 💯 worth the 1.5 hour round trip for me!

Iowa City Tropicals is awesome!! We are so fortunate to have this local option for aquatic needs. The owner has extensive knowledge about fish and plant keeping, is so easy to talk to, and is incredibly dedicated to his store and the wellbeing of everything inside of it. I could spend all day looking around in the different tanks! Highly recommend.

awesome owner, great selection of plants, owner had some new plants that i wanted and gave me more than i asked for because they were knew and wanted to make sure they stayed alive. also told me that if i had any issues with the plants to just give him a call and he would make things right. 10/10 owner and store. clearly loves the aquarium hobby.

The owner is very knowledgeable and has recommendations even if it costs him a sale involving responsible fish ownership. I’ve made purchases of fish, aquarium accessaries, wood, substrate, air pumps, heaters, you name it. Always a good deal when you buy from this guy. You not only get the item you get the benefit of his life experience. Would visit and buy again.

Extremely nice, professional, and knowledgeable, and was very patient answering my questions. The place was nice and clean, the fish looked healthy and well taken care of, and the prices were very reasonable. Ended up getting a pair of bristlenoses about 2 months ago that are doing great and just recently spawned! Would absolutely stop in again and definitely recommend!
